Pokémon Center Japan: Stores, Hours and Café Reservations
Contents
Choose a Pokémon Center that fits your route, then check its official branch page before travelling. This guide compares five locations in Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto using information recorded on 4 November 2026; normal hours and access details may change. Pokémon Center shopping and Pokémon Café seating are separate: café reservations do not automatically apply to shop visits, and shop hours do not tell you when a café is open.

Compare five Pokémon Centers
The five branches below are in different buildings and serve different parts of a Tokyo or Kansai itinerary. The access details identify the station, exit or walking estimate given by each official branch page; they are useful for choosing a location, but do not replace checking the route for your particular starting point. Hours are the branches’ normal hours recorded on 4 November 2026, not a guarantee that the store will be open unchanged on your visit date.
| Branch | Location | Normal hours recorded 4 November 2026 | Access stated by the official page |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pokémon Center Shibuya | Shibuya PARCO 6F, 15-1 Udagawacho, Shibuya, Tokyo | 10:00–21:00 | About five minutes on foot from Shibuya Station |
| Pokémon Center Tokyo DX | Nihombashi Takashimaya S.C. East 5F, 2-11-2 Nihombashi, Chuo, Tokyo | 10:30–21:00 | Five minutes on foot from Tokyo Station’s Yaesu North Exit; directly connected to Tokyo Metro Nihombashi Station exit B2 |
| Pokémon Center Osaka DX | Daimaru Shinsaibashi Main Building 9F, 1-7-1 Shinsaibashisuji, Chuo, Osaka | 10:00–20:00 | Direct underground connection from Midosuji Line Shinsaibashi Station exit 4 |
| Pokémon Center Kyoto | SUINA Muromachi 2F, 78 Kankobokocho, Shimogyo, Kyoto | 10:00–20:00 | Directly connected to exit 26 at Shijo and Karasuma stations |
| Pokémon Center Mega Tokyo | Sunshine City Alpa 2F, 3-1-2 Higashi-Ikebukuro, Toshima, Tokyo | 10:00–20:00 | About three minutes on foot from Higashi-Ikebukuro Station |
The official pages also give additional access details for some branches. Tokyo DX is four minutes on foot from Toei Asakusa Line Nihombashi Station, while Mega Tokyo is about eight minutes on foot from Ikebukuro Station and about four minutes from Higashi-Ikebukuro-Yonchome tram stop. Kyoto’s official page also identifies Shijo-Karasuma bus stop as nearby. These alternatives can help when your route or the station you arrive at differs from the shortest listed approach.
Tokyo DX lists Pokémon Café TOKYO as a related facility, and Osaka DX lists Pokémon Café OSAKA. Mega Tokyo lists Pikachu Sweets as a related facility. Treat each as a distinct facility with its own information: the store’s normal hours do not establish the café’s hours, and the café’s booking rules do not establish the shop’s entry arrangements.
The branch pages are the best starting point for checking location and current notices. Shibuya’s official page specifically warns that its hours may change and that temporary closures are possible. Check the page for the branch you plan to visit before setting out, especially if you have planned the day around a particular product or a narrow transfer window.
Shopping, entry and practical planning
The official notice for Pokémon Café bookings for December 2026 says that a reservation is not required to buy merchandise. That statement concerns merchandise shopping; it is not a promise of product availability or unconditional entry to every store on every date. The branch information supplied for this guide does not confirm product prices, stock, limited-product sales methods or whether a particular store will use entry tickets on a busy day, so check current store notices rather than relying on assumptions.
If you are visiting for a specific item, plan for the possibility that it may not be available when you arrive. Normal opening hours tell you the expected business hours, not whether a particular product remains in stock. It is sensible to leave some flexibility in your schedule so that an unavailable item does not disrupt the rest of your day. No product-price comparison is included here because the official information used for this guide does not establish current prices.
Before leaving your accommodation, open the official page for your chosen branch and confirm the building name, floor and address. Saving the Japanese address as well as the English branch name can make it easier to match the destination with station or building signs. This is especially useful when two branches have similar names: Tokyo DX is in Nihombashi, while Shibuya is in Shibuya PARCO.
Keep shop planning separate from café planning. A visit to the shop does not by itself reserve a café seat, and a café reservation does not establish shop entry arrangements or product availability. If both are part of your plan, check the store’s current notice and the café’s reservation information independently, then allow for the journey and building navigation between your planned stops.
The official café FAQ says that strollers are kept in a designated place at the café. That guidance is about the café and should not be treated as a statement of the shop or building’s stroller arrangements. If you are travelling with children or a stroller, check the relevant facility’s current information rather than assuming the same policy applies throughout the building.
Pokémon Café reservations
Pokémon Café is a reservation-based experience, separate from shopping at a Pokémon Center. The official FAQ says reservations are accepted through the official reservation site until 08:00 on the day you want to visit. Check the reservation screen for the date you intend to book and read its terms before confirming, since the availability shown there is specific to your requested date.
Count every member of your party when making the booking, including a child aged zero. The FAQ says the number of guests cannot be changed after the reservation is complete, so check the party size before submitting. If your group’s plans are uncertain, do not assume that you can add or remove a guest later; consult the current reservation screen and FAQ for the options available to you.
The FAQ states that seating is available for 90 minutes from the booked start time. If you arrive more than ten minutes after that start time without contacting the café, the reservation is automatically cancelled. Plan your route with the booked time in mind, and check the café’s current arrival and contact guidance before travelling rather than assuming that a late arrival will be held.
Cancellation is possible through the reservation site and other stated channels until 22:00 on the day before the reservation, according to the FAQ. Use the instructions associated with your booking and confirm the applicable procedure in the current FAQ. The same FAQ says strollers are kept in a designated place; check the café’s instructions if you need details for your visit.
The café’s announcement for December 2026 reservations specified a single release: reservations for 1–31 December 2026 opened at 18:00 on 1 November 2026. It also said that the reservation start dates for January 2027 onward would be announced later. The announcement states that seat reservations are web-only and cannot be made by telephone or email.
Do not assume that the December 2026 release pattern applies to every future month. The notice documents a specific booking release, while the FAQ gives the general reservation details; check the official café announcement for the date you want. When comparing plans, keep the café’s booking time and the Pokémon Center’s normal shop hours as separate pieces of information.
Choose a branch for your trip
Start with the city and station already on your itinerary rather than treating a visit to one branch as a reason to cross the city. In Tokyo, Shibuya’s store is in PARCO, Tokyo DX is in Nihombashi, and Mega Tokyo is in Sunshine City in Ikebukuro. Their different locations make the station access and building names useful decision points, particularly if you have limited time or are combining the visit with other plans.
For a Tokyo visit, use the access details that match the area you will already be travelling through. Shibuya is about five minutes on foot from Shibuya Station, while Tokyo DX is five minutes from Tokyo Station’s Yaesu North Exit or directly connected to Nihombashi Station’s B2 exit. Mega Tokyo is about three minutes from Higashi-Ikebukuro Station and about eight minutes from Ikebukuro Station, according to its official page. These are branch-specific estimates, not a comparison of total travel time from your hotel or another attraction.
For a Kansai itinerary, Osaka DX and Kyoto are in different cities and different buildings. Osaka DX is on the ninth floor of Daimaru Shinsaibashi’s Main Building and has an underground connection from Shinsaibashi Station exit 4. Pokémon Center Kyoto is on the second floor of SUINA Muromachi, directly connected to exit 26 at Shijo and Karasuma stations, with the Shijo-Karasuma bus stop also listed as nearby. Choose according to where you will be, rather than assuming the two branches are interchangeable stops.
If a café is a priority, check availability separately before deciding which day to visit. Tokyo DX and Osaka DX list Pokémon Cafés as related facilities, but a store’s opening hours are not the café’s opening hours, and the café requires its own reservation. Confirm the café’s booking information for your date and the relevant store’s information before setting your schedule around both.
Mega Tokyo lists Pikachu Sweets as a related facility, but the branch information used here does not provide that facility’s hours or booking details. Check its own current information if you want to include it in your plans. More generally, a related-facility listing is a useful lead, not a substitute for checking that facility’s separate arrangements.
Use the official branch pages for the final check on hours, address and notices. If a page reports a change or temporary closure, adjust your plan rather than relying on normal hours in a comparison table. For broader itinerary planning, the related Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka guides below can help you place a branch visit in the context of the city you are exploring.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a reservation to shop at a Pokémon Center?
The Pokémon Café’s December 2026 notice says a reservation is not required to buy merchandise. That does not establish whether a particular branch will use entry tickets on a specific busy day, or whether a product will be available when you arrive. Check the selected store’s official page for current entry notices and product-specific restrictions before travelling.
Do I need a reservation for Pokémon Café?
Yes. The official café FAQ says that café visits are reservation-based and that reservations are accepted through the official reservation site until 08:00 on the desired day. Café seating is separate from buying merchandise at a Pokémon Center, so a shop visit does not serve as a café booking.
Can I change the number of guests after booking?
The official FAQ says that the number of guests cannot be changed after the reservation is complete. Include everyone in the party when booking, including children aged zero. If your party changes, check the current reservation screen and FAQ for the options available rather than assuming you can edit the completed booking.
How long is a café booking, and what if I am late?
The FAQ gives a 90-minute seating period starting from the reserved time. It also says a booking is automatically cancelled if you arrive more than ten minutes after the start time without contacting the café. Check the current arrival and contact guidance before your visit, and allow time to reach the café from your previous stop.
Can I cancel a Pokémon Café reservation?
According to the official FAQ, cancellation is possible through the reservation site and other stated channels until 22:00 on the preceding day. Follow the instructions provided with your booking and verify the procedure in the current FAQ. Do not assume that the same deadline applies to a cancellation made on the reservation day.
Are Pokémon Center Shibuya and Pokémon Center Tokyo DX the same store?
No. Shibuya is on the sixth floor of Shibuya PARCO, while Tokyo DX is on the fifth floor of the East building of Nihombashi Takashimaya S.C. Use the address and station access for the branch you intend to visit, and check that branch’s official page for current hours.
Does the normal opening time guarantee that a particular item will be in stock?
No. Normal hours do not confirm current stock, product prices or the sales method for limited products. Check the branch’s current notices for information about the item you want, and keep an alternative plan in case it is unavailable.
How are December 2026 café reservations different from later dates?
The official notice said that bookings for 1–31 December 2026 opened together at 18:00 on 1 November 2026. It also said that the reservation start dates for January 2027 onward would be announced later. Check the café’s official announcements for the date you want instead of assuming that the December release schedule, or an older booking pattern, applies to every month.
