Ghibli Park sits inside Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park, east of Nagoya. It is a separate destination from the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka, Tokyo: tickets for one cannot be used at the other.

For visitors buying from overseas, the main choice is between the O-Sanpo Day Pass Premium, which covers all five areas and their designated buildings, and the Standard pass, which covers three areas. Both require an advance reservation and a timed entry to Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse.

Choose the places you want to enter first, then plan transport around the entry time. The official overseas ticket page lists the current passes and purchase options. Prices and conditions below were checked on November 8, 2026.

The five areas and what their names mean

The areas are spread across the larger commemorative park rather than grouped around a single entrance.

At a glance
O-Sanpo Day Pass Premium
¥7,300
O-Sanpo Day Pass Standard
¥3,300

Choose Premium if Satsuki and Mei’s House or the World Emporium is a priority. If your main interests are the Warehouse, Mononoke Village and Valley of Witches, Standard covers those three areas. Standard visitors who want to enter the Valley’s three designated buildings need separate same-day tickets.

Tickets, prices and how to compare coverage

Overseas day passes

The official overseas ticket page lists the following tax-inclusive admission prices. A ticket-issuing service charge is additional.

Pass Adult, weekday Adult, weekend or holiday Child aged 4–12, weekday Child aged 4–12, weekend or holiday
O-Sanpo Day Pass Premium ¥7,300 ¥7,800 ¥3,650 ¥3,900
O-Sanpo Day Pass Standard ¥3,300 ¥3,800 ¥1,650 ¥1,900

Children aged three and under enter free. For one adult and one child aged 4–12, admission totals ¥10,950 on a weekday or ¥11,700 on a weekend or holiday with Premium. With Standard, the totals are ¥4,950 or ¥5,700 respectively. These totals exclude the ticket-issuing service charge and separately priced activities.

Premium includes all five areas and entry to the World Emporium, Satsuki and Mei’s House, Okino Residence, Howl’s Castle and The House of Witches. Standard includes the Warehouse, Mononoke Village and Valley of Witches, but not the interiors of those three Valley buildings.

Adding Valley building visits to Standard

Standard holders can seek same-day tickets for the three designated Valley of Witches buildings:

Building Adult Child
Okino Residence ¥400 ¥200
Howl’s Castle ¥1,000 ¥500
The House of Witches ¥400 ¥200

Exchange vouchers are distributed near the Ticket Truck in Valley of Witches from 10:00 a.m. on weekdays and 9:00 a.m. on weekends and holidays. Each voucher shows when you can buy that building’s ticket; purchases are available until 4:30 p.m. Numbers are limited, and you must hold valid admission to Valley of Witches for that day.

If entering those buildings is central to your trip, Premium includes them without the additional same-day tickets. Rides and activities such as the carousel, Flying Machine and Tatara-ba workshops still have separate charges.

Domestic ticket options

The park also offers products through its domestic purchase route. These differ from the overseas day passes:

Domestic product Weekday: adult / child Weekend or holiday: adult / child Coverage
Valley of Witches and Mononoke Village ticket ¥3,300 / ¥1,650 ¥3,800 / ¥1,900 The two areas and the three designated Valley buildings; Howl’s Castle has a specified entry time
Satoyama Day Pass ¥1,000 / ¥500 ¥1,500 / ¥750 Valley of Witches, Mononoke Village and the Dondoko Forest summit; designated building interiors are not included

For these domestic prices, the child category is ages four through elementary school. Satoyama Day Pass holders enter Valley of Witches between 1:00 and 4:30 p.m. See the official ticket-change notice and park FAQ for the conditions.

Booking, timed entry and re-entry

Reserve before travelling

Start with the overseas ticket page, which links to LAWSON TICKET and Klook. Park admission requires an advance reservation and is not sold at the entrance to each area. The same-day Valley building tickets do not replace park admission.

Overseas day passes generally go on sale at 2:00 p.m. Japan time on the 10th, two months ahead. January 2027 tickets are listed as going on sale on November 10, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Japan time. Check the announcement for your own visit month before setting a reminder.

Before paying, check the date, pass, Warehouse entry time and number of visitors. The park says bookings cannot normally be changed or cancelled after purchase. The named applicant must attend, and overseas visitors should bring their passport for a possible ID check.

Protect the Warehouse entry window

For both Premium and Standard, Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse has a reserved entry time. The party must enter together within one hour after that time; early entry is not allowed.

For example, with a 1:00 p.m. reservation, be together and ready to enter during the 1:00–2:00 p.m. window. Allow time to get from the station to the Warehouse entrance and to join any queue.

The other areas covered by the day passes do not have assigned entry times, but their final entry is 4:30 p.m. The park recommends visiting Hill of Youth and Dondoko Forest in the morning or early afternoon because they can become crowded late in the day.

Premium wristbands and re-entry

Premium holders receive wristbands when their QR tickets are checked at the first area. The whole party must be present with the named applicant for that first entry and again for the Warehouse. Wristband pickup must be completed by noon, even if the Warehouse reservation is later. After the first area, wristband holders may enter the other non-Warehouse areas individually.

Premium allows re-entry to each area, but re-entry to the Warehouse starts at 3:00 p.m. With Standard, re-entry is available only to Valley of Witches. Check the official ticket conditions before planning lunch outside an area.

Build a workable route

  1. Fix the Warehouse time first. Work backward from it when choosing your train or bus.
  2. With Premium, enter a first area and collect wristbands by noon. If your Warehouse slot is in the afternoon, visit another included area first.
  3. Visit Hill of Youth and Dondoko Forest earlier in the day where your reservation permits.
  4. Keep the 4:30 p.m. final-entry deadline in view. Leave walking and queue time between areas.

A Standard visitor seeking same-day Valley building tickets can make Valley of Witches an early stop, then return for the Warehouse reservation. Keep the Warehouse window as the fixed point: the separately sold building tickets are limited.

Getting there and checking operating days

From Nagoya by train

From Nagoya Station, take the Higashiyama subway line to Fujigaoka, then transfer to the Linimo and get off at Ai-Chikyuhaku Kinen Koen. The commemorative park is outside station Exit 2.

One-way segment Adult Child
Subway: Nagoya to Fujigaoka ¥310 ¥150
Linimo: Fujigaoka to Ai-Chikyuhaku Kinen Koen ¥400 ¥200
Total ¥710 ¥350

The subway fare follows the Nagoya City Transportation Bureau’s fare table. The Linimo fare and timetable page lists the second segment and its child-fare categories. Check the timetable for your travel date.

Reaching the station is not the same as reaching your ticketed entrance. The official FAQ gives these approximate distances from the station:

Destination Approximate distance
Hill of Youth 300 m
Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse 400 m
Mononoke Village 800 m
Valley of Witches 800 m
Dondoko Forest 1,000–1,300 m, depending on route

Wear comfortable walking shoes and leave room in your schedule for the walk.

Bus and car

Meitetsu operates a bus from Meitetsu Bus Center at Nagoya Station; the park lists the departure point as the fourth floor, stop 24. A route from Chubu Centrair International Airport Terminal 1 via Fujigaoka is also listed. Check the Meitetsu Bus route page for fares and departures on your date.

Ghibli Park has no dedicated parking lot and recommends public transport. If driving, consult the commemorative park parking information linked from the official access page.

Opening hours

Regular hours are 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. on weekdays and 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. on weekends and holidays. Tuesday is normally the closing day; if Tuesday is a public holiday, the park normally closes on the following weekday. Additional year-end and maintenance closures apply.

Check your exact date on the official park calendar before booking transport or accommodation.

Luggage, families, food and photography

Luggage and walking

Large bags and suitcases cannot be taken into Ghibli Park areas. Leave them at your hotel where possible. The surrounding commemorative park has lockers at the North Gate Information Center, Global Center, and West Gate Information Center and Lounge, but the number is limited.

Visiting with children

Every Ghibli Park area has a diaper-changing station. the Warehouse and Valley of Witches also have nursing and baby rooms. Strollers can be used in the surrounding park, but are generally not permitted inside buildings; use the designated stroller parking and bring a carrier if needed.

Some play facilities are limited to children aged 12 and under, including Dondoko-do and the Cat Bus in the Warehouse’s Cat Bus Room. The official family and accessibility FAQ gives details for each area.

Food and drinks

Eat food brought from outside in the surrounding commemorative park, where there are lawns and benches. Inside Ghibli Park areas, food eaten must be purchased within Ghibli Park. Drink beverages outdoors or outside exhibition rooms in plazas and walkways, and keep bottle lids secured inside exhibition rooms.

Restaurants and shops inside ticketed areas require admission to those areas. Plan an outside picnic around your ticket’s re-entry rules: Standard holders can return only to Valley of Witches.

Photography

Photography and video are restricted inside facilities, with exceptions in designated locations. Indoor flash is not allowed even where photography is permitted. Tripods, monopods and selfie sticks are prohibited; follow signs and staff instructions at each location. See the visitor guide for park rules.

Questions to settle before you book

Can I buy admission when I reach an area?
No. Reserve park admission in advance. Same-day tickets for the three designated Valley buildings are additional tickets for eligible visitors, not a substitute for area admission.

Can I use a Ghibli Museum ticket at Ghibli Park?
No. The Mitaka museum and the Aichi park are separate facilities with separate tickets.

Does Standard include Howl’s Castle?
Standard includes Valley of Witches, but entry to Howl’s Castle requires a separate same-day building ticket, subject to availability. Premium includes the building.

Can I leave for lunch and return?
With Standard, re-entry is available only to Valley of Witches. Premium permits re-entry to each area, with Warehouse re-entry starting at 3:00 p.m.

What should I check before leaving for the park?
Check your ticket and Warehouse time, the park calendar and your transport departure. Premium holders should also make sure the party can collect its wristbands by noon.

Related trip planning

Give Ghibli Park its own place in your Nagoya or Aichi itinerary: the reserved Warehouse time, walking between areas and the return journey should shape the rest of the day.
